A SLOW BEGINNING

Due to working full time it does take ages for us to actually get things done, unless it's straight forward or we have everything to hand.

So the pond was removed last weekend and this weekend, Paul's started on paving the ex pond area. He's edging it in the same grey brick that was used before. However his two 'helpers' insist on using the area as a sand pit !

The bricks have been allowed to set overnight and Paul will start paving the area today. Unfortunately we only have enough paving stones to do half the area, so will need to get some more. The landscape gardening place we would normally use is still closed under the lockdown, so we need to source more.

Elsewhere the Iris bed is coming into it's own. With lots of the iris starting to bloom or in bud.

We are really pleased with how this area has worked, so we are considering making it wider , so we can add a second row of Irises. Unfortunately because our dogs love this space and when allowed in will at some stage ,if not watched, will start chasing each other or just running round the circle! Which alas has resulted in a few of the iris buds being knocked off the plants.

Billy Bob, the goat, is back out in the flower garden to watch over it.

So today we will be paving and also emptying the shed we have at the very end of the garden to give to our next door neighbours. Leaving us with a nice clear space to use in another way.
