OTHER JOBS GETTING DONE

Finally, we decided to make the pond as we originally intended and not deviate and cost ourselves a small fortune.

We have ordered what we need for the pond and it's not arriving until Wednesday, so we have started doing some other small jobs we did have the parts for.

We have been working on this area, The Folly, We started by removing the piece of trellis forming the wall on the left of the photo with the bamboo attached to it. We had a 5ft by 6ft fence panel left over from when Paul refenced the garden.

Removed.

Interesting to look out from behind the statue.

It was interesting to see the initials that confirm, which we knew anyway, that it's Tudor Gate the same as the new pieces.

Here it is finished with the new fence panel in place, we will add a small piece of trellis above the panel to infill between fence and wooden beam. Next up I cleared all the flowers and weeds that had self-seeded into the area below the window.

So, I pulled up all the geraniums which looked lovely and pretty but alas had to go if we are to finally finish this area with some paving surrounded by a little planting.

The slabs have been stood against the side wall waiting also for the last few years.

I found the stones which formed the inside step years back, so these will be taken up and used along the lefthand side between the side of the archway and the wall seen ahead because the window area is much lower than the shady area side.

Once that's moved, we can take out and level the window area to the opening at the arch, lay some old paving slabs and put in some planting and shingle.

Paul spent this morning putting in a few more rows of wall, so that we can hang the metal light fittings either side of the 'fire' place.

Starting the few extra rows.

So almost done, maybe a couple of odd broken bricks on the left but all the other walls in this section are finished.

Now it's getting the floor sorted, while the cement dries.
