A VISIT TO KEW GARDENS part three

Just along from the Princess of Wales conservatory is the rock garden.

This is the way into the rock garden.

The path weaves it's way through or you can walk along higher then down stairs and back in amid the rocks.

The plants come from all over the world.

The plants are well spaced allowing you to see each plant.

You can see the top of the Conservatory at the side of  the rock garden.

I love how these plants fit themselves in a corner and make it their own.

A mass of white flowers cascading down the rocks.

Some small ferns.

A small waterfall, which I love, natural stones with the water running over.

The full view.

A bigger waterfall, with large pool at base.

I'm wanting one of these, love the way it curls round on it's self.

So we're thinking rock garden ! with  natural stone waterfall !! just need to find a space and a big pile of quality rocks!!!!

  2. Wow, how Kew has changed! It was always gorgeous, we used to go there at least once every 4 weeks when my childrn were small. When h was born in 1978, it was 2p to get in. It rose to the dizzy heights of 20p for me and 10p for each hcild by their early school days. But U was shocked when Jake told me how mch entrance cost last year as it is, for some, their local park. Now see why!
However, it is more than a park by a long way. It's a major research centre for the world and incredibly beautiful. One of the things few thng still miss now I no am longer living in London.

    1. 2P !!! those days are soo long gone! Must have been lovely to have it so close that you could just go in whenever you wanted. It would take a good couple of days to see everything properly you can become a member and then visit whenever you like with a family/friend on same ticket and we'd be so tempted if it was not such a trek to get there.
