SLOWLY GETTING THERE.

Well we had a couple of evenings off but then it was back to getting on with all the little jobs that need doing and because the evenings are light until quite late, we were outside working for several hours each night.

This evening Paul finished pointing the paving stones.

A view from the upstairs window of Paul getting on with the last of the pointing.Yesterday evening I gave the covered benches their second coats of stain but still had the seat to finish on one and also the tidying up any stain in the wrong place.

Once I finished I decided to take the camera round the garden to see how it's coming along. This Rose called Geoff Hamilton has opened and is mixed in with the Wisteria.

The Wisteria is still going strong which is lovely.

another view of the Rose with the Wisteria.

These Oriental Poppy buds are looking lovely and full, now if they could just wait a week to flower!

A closer look at the Geoff Hamilton rose.

Fully open.

showing the long length of the wisteria blooms.

The Molineux standard rose is starting to flower in the formal box garden.

Agapanthus is starting to flower.

The Abutilon is flowering.

The Rose Crown Princess Margarita

The damp garden is filling up.

A few Iris's which we are going to plant here just need to find the right space.

Few from the other side of damp garden.

A peach coloured Bearded Iris.

Three of our larger Aeonium's waiting to be placed in the garden.

The new Hostas are down by the stone circle.

Looking back from the stone circle, starting to get more colour in the view.

This climbing rose , whose name escapes me at the moment, is flowering by the stone circle.

I LOVE GERANIUMS , so there are quite a few in our garden. They are so versatile and always flower well and look good and come in so many colours and shades for all places.
Below are some of the ones flowering now.

I have more but I am sure you seen enough!! :)

The box garden is waiting for it's Chelsea chop! Which must happen this week!

Well I'll stop here and just finish with

The new path , which just needs cleaning up and then it's done!!

So another weekend is about to arrive and lots of jobs still to do but things should now be put in their places and cleaned and finished with no need to revisit before the big day. Still plenty of weeding to do and that will of course still need doing to the last minute!

Eight days and counting......

  1. What so many kinds of flowers there are!
I saw the Geoff Hamilton rose for the first time. I have been translating his book 'The ornamental kitchen garden' in Japanese since last autumn.

    1. Yes we like to fill the garden with lots of different flowers . That is good you are translating his book to Japanese, it must be very time consuming! but well worth the effort.
