Paul's decided he wants a Tropical area in the garden and so he's been ordering in some palms , to help him achieve the look he's after.
First up we have Sago Palm Cycas Revoluta
Next is Pygmy Date Palm Phoneix Robellenii
which Paul stood in this square pot, now decided likes in square pot! So planning to keep in this pot for now.
The third arrival is a Chusan Palm Trachycarpus Fortunei, that's the one on the right front.
These look quite good as a group , so may all land up in pots on the patio!!
Paul's also bought himself another Banana! So now has a red, green and yellow one.
This is a photo of a Golden Lotus Banana, Musella Lasiocarpa of course our one is quite small but hopefully it will produce such flowers in time!.
Well if the weather is good tomorrow, we will be completely removing the workshop roof all 17 foot of it , then replacing the wooden boards and re felting to make it water tight for another 15 years according to the felting guarantee ! It will be a long hard job but such a relief once it's all sorted.

Now over to Paul's share of your Blogspot!
ReplyDeleteSo Mr Dad has decided on a Palms Court theme for this year's new section project. I always think that they look so graceful slightly swaying in the gentle breeze although they need wrapping up and protecting over Winter.
It looking as if it would be a perfect place here to put a little patio table and chairs for sipping early cups of coffee or later afternoon teas.
I was trying to gauge just where these patio doors were situated in relation to the house's rooms but have just spotted the checked table cloth that was shown in the previous Sasha post so have now been able to put two and two together.....
so an even more perfect a place to add that little patio table.
Yes he has! I wanted him to plant them but he's got visions of them in pots on the patio!! Will have to see what happens over course of the summer!
ReplyDeleteI am sure you have worked out they are just to the side of the french doors into Kitchen. There is usually a large wooden table with a bench and two wooden chairs on the patio in front of those doors once the weather improves, so yes a nice place for an early summer morning cuppa :)
The palms are lovely, we have the same ones!! Ours are in the ground though and have grown very big in the last few years. But it's nice having them in pots because you can move them around or bring them in in the colder months in the UK.
