This little daisy style plant is still going strong, we will put it in the greenhouse and hope it will survive through the winter and then we can take some cuttings in the spring.
This Acer is giving off a glorious display for red before it drops its leaves.
A slightly closer look.
Still some colour on this corner in the flower garden.
This Calendula is an annual that's reseeded itself in that spot for the last couple of years.
This Penstemon is still flowering along side the Michaelmas daisy.
The lighter Michaelmas daisy is a bit of a thug, that we keep having to pull up , but we have put in the brighter pink one that is not so invasive.
I don't think the Rhododendron is going to make it ! But will see what happens next spring just incase it recovers.
The longest surviving Acer down beside the workshop, we planted it in this sheltered spot to give it space to grow and it's done well but does on occasion suffer with the weather.
View from the otherside, you can see one side at the top left has lost it's leaves already and could be damaged by the very hot weather, another waiting game to see it that side recovers.
We had to move the nesting statue , so at present it's here and we will look to see if there is a better place for it in the spring. Unless of course some birds are nesting then it will stay where it is.
The odd little Geranium has a flower here and there.
The pale pink perennial Fuchsia is still flowering
The perennial wallflower has started.
another tiny geranium and a daisy
The folly looking wintery
The lovely still red Sedum.
Another of the acer in the back garden , also sheltered by the fence which has allowed it to get a good bit of growth. This is also several years old.
These pots of small geranium's will be heading off to the greenhouse ,to over winter, this week
It would be a shame to lose them.
Meanwhile out the front garden there is still some colour with this red perennial fuchsia .
a closer look. We have a small cutting of this , that Paul took, and we have put it in the back garden , so hopefully it will get as big and lovely as this one.
A couple of geraniums still fighting to flower.
there is also one of the pale pink ones, which is enormous, standing a good six foot or more and spreading widely.
Wrapping itself through and round the Mahonia which will soon be flowering a wonderful yellow.
The smoke bush in the corner is starting its journey to bright red, and just at the side is an Amber Tree, which we need to find a better place for, as it's too overgrown round it.
The loquat has had hundreds of flowers on it , so next year there could be another big display for fruits.
a closer look.
The last snip of colour by the front post is a Euonymus , its leaves turning red.
So there is still some colour as we head into the last month of autumn with winter hard on it's heels.
