NOW WE NEED A POND!

So we ordered more gravel, which arrived but turned out to be a different colour than the first batch, because we went to a different supplier who was a bit cheaper, which meant we had to cover the whole area again, mixing up the gravel.

At least this is now all finished and just the pond to build.

The other end with the lychgate.

To this end we have added one of our new pieces, Dark Pan by Marcus at Tudor Gate in Cornwall.

He will tone down as he ages and also we need to grow something around him. We may move him onto the other folly wall once it's built or he may stay where he is, if he's settled in well.

or we may add another head to the other side!

We also took delivery of our other statue , also by Marcus.

But we had the perfect setting just waiting for her to lift it up.

Queen Guinevere, along with her column.

When we bought our statue of Niamh, many years ago, Guinevere was also available, but we could not afford both. We had to travel to a reclamation yard in Wells, Somerset to buy her. So, when we saw Guinevere available and also available with the column, we decided to get her as we had just the right place for her.

The planting will surround her during the summer, autumn months and her column will be revealed in full during the winter/spring months.

Next up the pond!
