IT'S A JUNGLE OUT THERE!!!!

What a difference a few months can make !

From this taken on the 17th July to.......................

This today 2nd September.

Nice crop of cider apples .

We've also gone from this... on 17th July ....

to this !! Our next door neighbour asked the Parish council to clear the copse of birch/beech trees at the end of his garden and they did! It's opened up the space to the light but probably taken away that nice micro climate we had of it being always much cooler on a hot day down in our little stone circle!

A shame he had them removed but an opportunity for us to do something in this area and it will bring in more light.

I should have taken a photo of this giant Canna when the flowers were at their peek but you can still see the vibrant colour.

Also back on the 17th July the alpine bed looked like this and now.....

today the plants are thriving and filling the space.

The poor garden's been taking a back seat while we spend our time on the house , with only a little attention , re watering and the odd grass cutting but it's still looking lovely and a delight to sit in when we find the time.

So all going well, infact a few are going so well they may swamp the area they are in, so will be keeping a watch on them to make sure they don't bury their neighbour!

THIS MONTH'S LOOK ROUND THE GARDEN

I did not realise near a month's past since our last post, so here are some photos I took in the garden today.

This beautiful David Austin Rose The Lark Ascending has been flowering for months.

Such a gorgeous colour of apricot to yellow.

A great mix of colurs in this front garden flowerbed.

Brugmansia Double Pink

The trumpet flower on the right is just going over while the one on the left comes into it's own, showing the deep pink.

This Poppy that self seeded in the gravel of the front garden now showing just the seed heads.

I love these poppy seed heads just as decorative as the flowers.

a gorgeous purple Buddlega

Crocosmia & Variegated hardy fuchsia

Variegated Cornus on the left & hardy fuchsia centre/right

Some pots of Fuchsias by the front door.

Round the back garden.

Poor Joan's not looking good! Since we did not really use the correct base , the moss as not taken, so she'll be having a wash and finding a place to stand.

These Anemones are looking great with lots of flowers.

This Akebia Quinata climber is going great, so much so we will need to cut it back.

On this side is a Honeysuckle, rose and a Jasmine all intertwined.
